Morgan starred in an informational clip Safe Sex for Men and Women that addressed AIDS education and prevention. Morgan gave a percentage of her income to the American Foundation for AIDS Research. Morgan is a part-time member of the Entertainment Industry AIDS Task Force. Morgan led numerous fund-raising initiatives to combat the disease and testified to the Congressional Special Committee regarding AIDS Education. Morgan is on the Board of Governors of APLA as well as the Board of Directors of Amfar. C. Everett Koop asked her at times to take his place at AIDS events. She also hosted the AIDS Awareness Special with anchorman Steve Bell. Ted Koppell asked her to make appearances on Nightline regarding AIDS. Morgan was nominated for an Emmy for the special Murphy Brown episode written by Diane English for her. Morgan was co-starring on ABC TV's Your Money or Your Wife during the spring season with Joan Rivers. She then started the summer by starring in Murder At The PTA Luncheon that was created by Von Zerneck/Sertner. The show was also co-starring Cindy Williams and Marla Gibbs. Her next project brought Morgan to Luxembourg to be a part of Harmony Gold's production Sherlock Holmes and the Leading Lady with Christopher Lee and Patrick McNee. Morgan also starred as the main character in a psychological thriller which was produced exclusively through the USA Network. It received one of the best ratings that the network has ever had.
